For over 22 years, LGI has been at the forefront of Melbourne’s independent dance scene, presenting more than 21 award-winning works to tens of thousands globally. We’ve been pivotal in the careers of many dance luminaries such as Stephanie Lake, Antony Hamilton, Jo Lloyd, and Lilian Steiner.
Our dedication to strengthening Melbourne’s dance community remains unwavering. In the past year alone, we:
– Performed for over 4,200 audiences across 110 shows.
– Hosted 20 studio residents.
– Provided over 800 hours of free studio space.
– Delivered 235 classes to 2,000+ participants, led by 58 teachers.
– Commissioned 3 new works as part of our PIECES initiative.
