Generate at Alter State is a week-long collaboration between Lucy Guerin Inc and Arts Access Victoria.
Arts Access Victoria has curated a range of programs and events at the home of Lucy Guerin Inc, WXYZ Studios. Artists and audiences can practice, exchange and experiment in this shared space.
Monday 30 November and Tuesday 1 December
Boorloo (WA)-based artists Ainslie Allan (they/them) and Mani Mae Gomes (they/them) invite Naarm audiences into their shared practice. Grounded in trust and care, their work seeks authentic, unmasked expression through voice and body. Experience movement, breath and live sound through loop pedal in this workshop. Tuesday 1 December will be a drop in session open to the public throughout the day. Registrations not required.
Next up, LGI/WXYZ’s Morning Class program will feature artists at the forefront of inclusive dance practice.
Wednesday 2 December
Touch Compass dancer Alisha McLennan Marler, soloist for White Noise, leads a 90-minute embodied exploration of inclusive dance practice. This workshop will create a shared space where every body can move, connect and create on its own terms. The session is open to people of all abilities and backgrounds. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring any mobility aids or supports you use.

About AlterState 2026 and Arts Access Victoria
Alter State is a disability-led arts initiative celebrating Deaf and Disabled artists, creativity and culture. It is founded and presented by Arts Centre Melbourne and Arts Access Victoria.
In 2026, Alter State explores the theme ‘Regeneration: Building Deaf and Disabled Futures’. Regeneration is what comes after disruption. Not a return to how things were, but the slow, deliberate work of tending new ground.
Lucy Guerin Inc is thrilled to continue our partnership with Arts Access Victoria, the peak body for arts and disability in Victoria. This disability-led organisation plays a vital role in state, national and international discourse and is a leading force behind a more accessible arts and cultural sector.
Presented by LGI in partnership with Arts Access Victoria, and made possible by WXYZ Studios.
