Class today is Ballet w/ Jimi Ferguson

A playful and curious reimagining of classical techniques, derived from Balanchine and Vaganova methods, into movement ideas for the contemporary body through inclusive practice.

This class focuses on exploring the nuances of synchronicity between musicality and the body.
The focus of the class is to connect mind, body and breath. We will work with an intention throughout the practice, which will be invitational for everyone to work with however they want in a guided way.

Use of specific Ballet terminologies, complex and quick learning of phrases/movement ideas, working to varying musical tempos/rhythms and loud music.
The class will begin with pranayama (breathing techniques) and intention, it will then move into a gentle warm up with some core work before it moves into a more dynamic and powerful flow, the class will finish with a shavasana and then more pranayama.
