Class today is Contemporary Dance w/ Deanne Butterworth
Deanne’s class encourages freedom and exploration in movement while finding strength, co-ordination and endurance while dancing. A thorough warm-up consists of some imagery exercises to create whole-body and spatial awareness.
Focusing on different movement qualities using anatomical information we will use improvisation to explore habitual patterns as well as finding new pathways by ourselves and through observing others and then finally in learning a phrase together.

This class aims to be accessible to all bodies present and seeks to accommodate all abilities.
Although movements can be complex, require strength in and out of the floor etc., the class is taught slowly with a lot of detail and movement can be adapted.
It may include spoken instructions (i.e. material not physically demonstrated, improvisation, visualisations, complex or fast movement sequences and loud music (music not essential and can be adjusted).
Deanne can sign basic Auslan.
