Class today is Contemporary Dance w/ Oliver Savariego
—
Oliver aims to expand proprioceptive, technical and artistic awareness through state-based improvisation, somatic explorations and a sharing of post-modern dance lineages. His class attempts to strip away then slowly reintroduce layers of technique, habit and decoration, with intention for movement specificity and a deeper understanding of the infinitum of choices and actions available within dance.
The class will begin with a led warm-up and guided improvisations, focusing on sensation and play, followed by tactile graphics and technical progressions that anchor the body in its kinaesphere and greater spatial/physical context. This will culminate in learnt phrase material.
This class may include extended periods of spoken instruction, improvisations and self-guided movement, physical contact and touch consent between participants, complex and high energy movement sequences and personalised constructive criticisms
—
This class is aimed at those with foundational contemporary dance training, but attempts to accommodate anyone with a keen interest in movement exploration.
