Class today is Sandunga Flow w/ Robert Tinning

The colloquial Spanish word Sandunga means ‘an individual’s inner life flavour and rhythm’. It encapsulates all of the micro rhythms inside one person—from how one breathes to how one walks—into one unique flavour that only they can ever express. In this class we will explore how to access ‘Sandunga’ across sustained improvisational flows and exercises.

About Robert Tinning

Robert Tinning is an independent artist and choreographer. Understanding that performance art and live art are practices of human connection, his practice has been in the national and international arenas.

Robert has curated his teaching practice, with insights gained from his own performative career, his own creative practice and from industry leaders, to teach material that melds in-depth improvisational exploration, floor-work and phrase-work. By engaging with the imagination this three-part play-based approach is powered by the infinite potential number of internal engines and possibilities that the body, as a locomotive machine, can create. Robert has led University guest classes for the Bachelor of Arts Dance course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, has taught at dance schools around Australia and has led classes for state and independent arts organisations including STRUT Dance’s public classes, Tasdance’s company classes and Shaun Parker & Co’s company classes.
