Class today is Contemporary Dance w/ Tyler Carney-Faleatua

The aim of this class is to get the body moving while exploring tools that support individual expression. Tyler is particularly interested in encouraging
personal choice, curiosity and the freedom to explore, giving the space to test ideas, take risks, and share discoveries.

The class is structured around specific prompts and creative parameters that will gradually expand into looser, more open spaces. These prompts will build in layers, introducing concepts or ideas that we’ll play with then adding additional provocations as we progress. Dancers are invited to test, explore, and hold on to anything that resonates, while bringing their own personal expression into the work.

The class may include phrase work built around momentum-based pathways that flow in and out of the ground. This movement is informed by
Tyler’s background in contemporary dance, drawing on principles of flow, grounding, and efficiency of movement.

This class is suitable for intermediate level and up.
