Presented by Lucy Guerin Inc, LIVENESS is an exciting program for the Melbourne dance community to come together and explore improvisational movement in a fun, inclusive environment.
Participants will be guided through a warm-up and series of provocations, designed to engage the body, ignite performance skills, and stimulate the imagination. You will then have the opportunity to explore the realm of improvisational performance, negotiating your decision making in relation to the surroundings and fellow participants, while embracing the structures presented to you.
Each LIVENESS event is a distinct and energising experience, with fresh ideas and novel approaches to improvisation continually emerging.
LIVENESS welcomes dancers of all backgrounds and skill levels. Observers are also welcome to attend and are encouraged to come from 7.30pm.
To conclude the session, we invite everyone to linger and celebrate at the after-party, where delightful refreshments and beverages will be provided, ensuring a delightful and fulfilling experience for all.
