This workshop is an opportunity to engage with Lucy Guerin’s unique choreographic practice which has produced more than 50 works and has spanned over 30 years of continuous invention and creation. She has an international reputation for finely crafted movement material, honed choreographic structures, and a deep commitment to supporting the next generation of dancers.

This will be the final opportunity to be in the studio with Lucy before she steps down from her role as Artistic Director of Lucy Guerin Inc.

Come and join us in a welcoming environment with like minded artists to explore movement and ideas. The day will begin with a contemporary dance class. Following this, the workshop will include learning recent repertory from iconic LGI works including Split and The Forest taught by LGI Resident Director, Tra Mi Dinh. It will also delve into systems for developing new movement material in collaboration with Lucy and exploring a range of physical investigations through tasks and improvisation developed over her career.

If you would like to deepen your dance thinking and share the studio with one of Australia’s foremost choreographers, please join us for this rare glimpse into Lucy Guerin’s movement and practice.

This workshop is suitable for tertiary students, recent graduates, independent dance artists, professional dancers and all committed dance practitioners.
