Last year had a profound impact on the creative industries and was particularly felt by dancers and choreographers. Your support is essential for LGI’s ongoing recovery, enabling us to continue creating new works and assisting independent dance artists in Melbourne.
In response to these challenges, LGI’s Major Benefactor philanthropist Dr Terry Wu will generously match every donation to LGI up to $20,000 dollar for dollar until 30 June, doubling your investment in Melbourne’s dance sector.
LGI offers a diverse, year-round program of development activities that is integral to sharing knowledge and resources with the dance community and engages with artists working locally and internationally.
Give $50 and we’ll get $100 to cover the cost of a daily dance class at WXYZ Studios.
Give $150 and we’ll get $300 towards LGI’s HOTBED workshops, for dancers and dance-makers to learn from renowned choreographers.
Give $500 and we’ll get $1,000 to make our programs and projects more accessible (e.g. providing closed captioning of live streamed talks and classes).
Give $1,000 and we’ll get $2,000 to support a secondment from NAISA Dance College to travel to Melbourne and experience a week in the life of a professional dance company.
Give $2,500 and we’ll get $5,000 for Out of Bounds, an exciting new performance platform creating an entry point into the industry for the work of diverse dance artists.
Whatever amount you’re able to donate, however small, every dollar will be matched by Terry. Your contribution to LGI will go a long way to ensuring the ongoing professional development of dancers in Melbourne.
